Sesame Street - Episode 1882 (1984 - Telly and the Fire Bell)
Ding! Ding! Ding! 2023 is outta here, kids, so let's get Telly to ring-a-ding in 2024 as loudly as we can! Nutshell Update: This has been possibly THE worst year for me (it all kicked off in Feb/March when I lost my hubby of 24 years, pretty much downhill since then). Even my usual Sesame Street buddies couldn't raise my spirits. Frankly, I'm not really in a good place, but I wanted to do something to send this year off in style. Couldn't find this episode online, so I thought I'd share. As always, special thanks to my Secret Santa who sent this to me eons ago. Originally aired on January 24, 1984 (Season 15), this is Episode 1882 of the best darn kids show ever. The Street Story with Telly and the fire bell (0:50, 12:46, 21:34, 35:01, 54:07) was first shown on Episode 1592 (December 15, 1981; Season 13). Nothing new, but here's what we do have in this ep:

Robinson) are in the dark because Forgetful forgot to turn something on.
CARTOONS: (15:28) Pinball Number Count #4; (20:23) Scanimate Films #4; (24:06) Sand O/o; (4:23) Man (voiced by Jim Thurman) tries to teach his dog to speak, but it makes other animal noises (Artist: Tom Gabbay); (10:40) Goldilocks takes a bath; (18:26) Four elephants at the circus (Artist: Owe Gustafson); (36:31) Rooster finds a purpose in his life when he's given the job to wake everyone on a farm and (52:51) "L Look Around Song" (both by Bruce Cayard); (26:21) Would you mind closing our OPEN?; (30:18) They'd play with me if I had ...; (34:00) Spanish Opera (La letra O - opera, oeste, orquidea, ojos, ocho, y el orquestra de orangutanes); (40:15) Ostrich born on a football field saves the game by scoring the winning touchdown; (42:38) David (Northern Calloway) spots an octagon out in space; (47:21) L for life, love, lizard, leap and lump (Artist: Cliff Roberts); (51:35) Short person tries to get on a horse.

Sesame Street - I Love Ya 'Cause You're Insincere - Oscar and Hermine (1977)
Переглядів 7 тис.Рік тому
"Standing here, looking at you, surrounded with trash ... it just about makes my stomach churn!" And, coming from Oscar, that is a stone cold compliment. Happy Valentine's Day, kids! After watching a building get demolished, Oscar the Grouch (Caroll Spinney) and Hermine (Richard Hunt) declare their feelings, awwww. Their painful, sickly, disagreeable, insincere love. If that ain't love these da...

Just why is there a kitten knittin' a kerchief, a kite, and a polka-dot mitten? Tune in to find out the shocking answer! Oh, fine, I'll just tell ya, but you're not going to believe me ;-) Thursday, the answer's Thursday. Feel better now?! Silly little cartoon from the old days for the letter K, originally shown on Episode 282 (1971), this version ripped from Episode 2619 (1989), linked below. ...
Sesame Street - Five Bears in the Bed (1979)
Переглядів 14 тис.Рік тому
Life can be weird, kids. Sometimes it feels like it's crowding in on you and sometimes we just get a little lonely. Sweet cartoon from the good old days of Sesame Street, "Five Bears in the Bed" is a take on the classic nursery rhyme, "Ten in the Bed", only with adorable teddy bears, awww. I've included a link for what appears to be the first use of the song on the show with folk icon Pete Seeg...

Hey, kids, who wants to be a Snuffketeer? Well, you've come to the right place, 'cause Snuffy (Martin P. Robinson) is starting a new club, yeah! From 1992 (Season 24), here comes Episode 3007 of the best darn kids show ever. PLEASE NOTE: To clear the only blockage keeping this from uploading, I had to remove the animated short of the live-action girl, Amelia, pretending to fly. And, for those k...
Sesame Street - Lou Rawls - I'm Not Afraid to Cry (1974)

"You know that I'm not afraid to cry when life's not apple pie ... And I'm not afraid to stamp when my eyes are getting damp!" Lou Rawls knows the secret to mental health, kids. Let it all out! Don't be afraid to just have a good cry when you need it. Things WILL get better. From 1974 (Season 5, Episode 0631), "I'm Not Afraid to Cry", written by Gary William Freeman and Brooke Morgan, published...
Sesame Street - What the World Needs Now Is Love (1970)
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
"What the world needs now is love, sweet love, it's the only thing that there's just too little of ..." Ain't that the truth, kids? Let's kick 2022 to the curb with some sweet, sweet love from Bob (Bob McGrath) and the kids circa 1970. I thought it only right that Bob's be the last voice I share to see off this awful year, one almost bookended by the painful losses of both Emilio Delgado (Luis)...
Sesame Street - Episode 2648 - Bob Goes To Grouchytown (1989)
Переглядів 46 тис.Рік тому
Who's up for a road trip, kids? Good news is we're travelling with our old buddy, Bob (Bob McGrath), yeah! Bad news is we're heading to Grouchytown with Oscar (Caroll Spinney), yikes! Some surprises along the way include the delightful Nina the Nice (Carol Kane). Otherwise, brace yourself for what else we'll find in this topsy-turvy Grouch paradise. Originally aired December 27, 1989, this is E...
Sesame Street - One Of These Things - Bob's First - Small and Large Shapes (1969)
Переглядів 2,6 тис.Рік тому
From 1969, Bob's (Bob McGrath) first time presenting the iconic game, "One of These Things", written by Joe Raposo, Jon Stone, and Bruce Hart (starts at 0:53). Susan (Loretta Long) introduced the game in the first episode (linked below) and it was a real treat to see them together in a brief homage as part of the 50th Anniversary special in 2019 (linked to the clip via the full special below). ...
Sesame Street - Animal Antics - Kinkajou w/Bob (1969)
Переглядів 2 тис.Рік тому
From 1969, Bob (Bob McGrath) and Ronald feed a banana to a live kinkajou. If seeing Bob smooch a kinkajou doesn't make you smile, check your pulse. Adorable. They tried it again with Gordon (Matt Robinson) and another kinkajou (I'm assuming!) in 1970 (linked below). Another in the semi-regular series of animals visiting the Street that I've called "Animal Antics", not an official title, this cl...
Sesame Street - Animal Antics - Lion Cub w/Bob (1969)
Переглядів 2,2 тис.Рік тому
From 1969, Bob (Bob McGrath) introduces the kids to a live lion cub. I like how Bob shields the kids from the little guy (with a heavy chain leash around his teeny neck, awww), but treats the cub just like a kitten, petting him and trying to feed him ice cream(!). Really wish someone had wiped the ice cream off, it looks so undignified for the future King of the Jungle. Another in the semi-regu...
Sesame Street - Animal Antics - Turtle w/Gordon (1970)
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
From 1970, Gordon (Matt Robinson) and the kids (Francesca and Rico) check out a live turtle. They don't touch him, mind you, which looks so odd, lol. Another in the semi-regular series of animals visiting the Street that I've called "Animal Antics", not an official title, this clip is from Episode 115 (aired April 17, 1970). At the end, Gordon talks about turtles coming from eggs, which leads i...

From 1970, Gordon (Matt Robinson) and the kids (Francesca and Rico) feed a banana to Happy Harold the Honey Bear, a live kinkajou. Bob (Bob McGrath) had the same idea with another kinkajou (I'm assuming!) back in 1969 (linked below). Another in the semi-regular series of animals visiting the Street that I've called "Animal Antics", not an official title, this clip is from Episode 115 (aired Apr...
Sesame Street - Bob and Linda - I Get a Nice Feeling (1977)
Переглядів 11 тис.Рік тому
It's with a heavy heart I share this clip tonight as I've just heard about Bob McGrath's passing earlier today. He was 90 years old, bless him. His spirit will live on thanks to so many years of joy he shared with us on The Street. Thank you for everything, Bob! In this lovely clip, Linda's (Linda Bove) friend, Timi (Timothy Near), helps Bob express how he feels about her by signing to the song...
Sesame Street - Episode 1070 (1977)

Mmmm, can you smell it, kids? That's the scent of love in the air on Sesame Street. Or it could just be the wind hitting Oscar's trash can just right. Either way, it's another full episode of the best darn kids show ever! First aired on December 16, 1977 (Season 9), Episode 1070 finds Oscar (Caroll Spinney) falling in love with another grouch, Hermine (Richard Hunt), awwww. As always, mucho tha...

I LOVE U GRAND MOTHER MAY MAE
Well, it appears we were mistaken regarding who animated this. According to Muppet Wiki (and we all know how careful they are about accuracy), it was actually done by Peter Wallach, son of Eli. And, I'm sorry to disillusion everyone, but Greer Garson is NOT the narrator. That would be Wallach's own mother, the actress Anne Jackson.
Way better than Whitney's version. BTW speaking of covers, Glenn Medeiros did the cover of George's other hit "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" in the late '80s.

There was a book my daughter got to read. It was a picture book. It was titled " it's okay to be afraid". I'm sad that she had to learn that at such an early age.
Remember this from my childhood..loved the segment and the two musical tunes used in it💎 Auckland New Zealand 2024
One of my favorite segments when I was a kid
Was that Geena Davis with Bob&Linda?
Without my bones I’d be all floppy
How sad she left the show for what she thought would be a bigger career in prime time and ended up playing third fiddle to the Marla Gibbs and Jackie Harry show. RIP Alaina Now you are the world.

Beautiful performance by the late great Alaina Reed. I’ve been looking for this clip for ages and found the song on iTunes on the Sesame Street Love album.

Beautiful song
All these live action vignettes would never hold the attention and wonder of children currently growing up in this era. Everything now has to be bright, flashy, fast paced, animated, and baby talked or otherwise they would lose interest.
This was made by Koninck Studios by working on the show.
Is there a cartoon like that with music and sound effects?
